Educational Scholarship

The Ottawa County Farm Bureau annually offers two (2) $1,000 scholarships to eligible student attending Michigan State University

In order to be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must be a dependent of a current Ottawa County Farm Bureau regular member, or if married, or 21 years of age or older, have his/her own Ottawa County Farm Bureau membership. The applicant should have a scholastic grade point average of 2.75 or above. The applicant must be accepted or enrolled at an accredited institution in an agriculture related course of study Application must be received no later than April 1st at the Ottawa County Farm Bureau office, in the calendar year for which they are applying. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than April 30th. The scholarship is to be applied/reimbursed towards the cost of tuition. To receive payment, the student must maintain a 2.75 GPA for the fall semester following notification of being awarded the scholarship. The student must provide a copy of their transcript to Ottawa County Farm Bureau, then payment will be sent directly to the student at the address listed on the application. The scholarship is a gift, not a loan. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students who are preparing for careers in the agricultural industry. The award of the scholarship is solely within the discretion of the Ottawa County Farm Bureau Board of Directors
